AYURVEDA IN THE KITCHEN
ROOT TO TABLE
A FIVE WEEK SERIES INTRODUCING THE FUNDAMENTALS OF AYURVEVEDA FOR EVERYDAY NOURISHMENT
Join Ayurvedic Chef and Yoga Therapist Autumn Moon for a 5-week exploration of Ayurveda - the ancient science of longevity, balance, and nourishment. Through interactive online lessons and one in-person cooking celebration, you’ll learn how to understand your unique dosha, cook with the seasons, and turn everyday meals into healing rituals.
Each week builds upon the last: from discovering your unique constitution and understanding the elemental make up of your body and certain foods, to exploring herbs, spices, and the magic of ghee. The journey ends in a hands-on cooking class where we prepare golden ghee and an Ayurvedic feast together — complete with your very own creation of spice blends to take home.

We will meet via zoom every Monday night 5:30-7pm PST March 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th
In Person cooking class will be held on Saturday April 4th from 12pm-6pm in Carlsbad, California.
THERE ARE ONLY 10 IN-PERSON SPOTS AVAILABLE!!
SESSION 1
Introduction to Ayurveda and this series. Discover your unique constitution (dosha) through an interactive quiz and guided reflection. Learn how each dosha expresses itself through the body, mind, and emotions— and how the times of day, seasons, and stages of life influence your balance.
SESSION 3
Dive into the heart of Ayurvedic cooking, the spices & herbs! Learn how to identify the energetic properties of herbs and spices, when to use cooling versus heating ingredients, and how to create balance through taste and temperature. You’ll begin transforming your kitchen into your own apothecary.
SESSION 2
Explore the five great elements — earth, water, fire, air, and ether — as they appear in your body, foods, and herbs. Learn about Agni (digestive fire) and the 6 tastes that guide Ayurvedic nutrition. You’ll learn to see food as energy and begin to intuitively balance meals for your body type.
SESSION 4
Discover the sacred role of ghee in Ayurvedic tradition — why it’s revered as a healing, grounding food — and learn how to make it at home. Then practice the art of the tadka (spice infusion) to unlock the medicinal essence of herbs and spices.
SESSION 5
In-Person Cooking Celebration
Gather in community for an immersive, hands-on Ayurvedic cooking class. Together we’ll make two custom spice blends to take home according to you and/or your family’s individual needs, prepare ghee, and cook a complete Ayurvedic meal — from savory to sweet — to share as a group.
